On a Mission: Rockefeller Center

I was determined to get to Rockefeller Center this day.  I planned the entire day out from which Subways to hop…streets to take…and sights to see.

the NYC Fashion Show, you wouldn’t imagine the people waiting outside.  I wasn’t about to wait with all those crazy people.
Walking…Walking…Walking.  This is all we ever did in NYC….either this or ride the Subway.
the Chrysler Building
Outside the NYC Library…which is also a Ghostbusters location
the Lion outside the Library
Down the street we walk again, off to find Rockefeller Center.
Chrysler Building again
It’s Build-A-Bear!!  I know my cousins were uber jealous I saw one of these in the Big City.  I really wanted to go in – but Mom & Dad said no.
Someone important.  Probably the President of the U.S.
Rockefeller Center!!!  It just took forever to find….but I do love seeing this site.
The Cafe we didn’t eat at.  I was in a hurry – I had other things to see on my list.
the Lower Level where all the ice skating takes place…it doesn’t look as big as it does on TV
the Rockefeller in the Background
More of the Lower Level
That’s one tall building

Times Square in the Daylight Hours

I finally got a bright & sunny day in NYC.  It was Perfect!  This was our near to last day exploring in NYC and we took advantage of it.

I thought this could be the Subway Graveyard…but who knows.
Lights! We must be in Times Square  ahhhhh….Yes we are!
Saw another NYPD officer on horseback
Then an argument broke out
Where to next? I’m always in a hurry.
Crosswalks in Times Square – scary stuff.
the New Years Ball
It’s Elmo!

Subway at 2AM

Being underground reminded me so much of Ghostbusters.  It sort of had an eerie feel to it and it was super hot.  I had to peel my jacket off me I was about to burn up down there.

Not our car
Goodbye train.

NYC Skyline After Dark

It’s always a good thing to take a trip on the Staten Island Ferry at Midnight.  The skyline after dark was one of the things suggested on our flight, so we had to do it.  It was gorgeous.  Now the guys making out next to us…not so hot.
Pretty Manhattan Skyline
Just Wow.
Statue of Liberty

Brooklyn Bridge

Staying out til’ 2 AM doesn’t take work…it’s very doable.  After Little Italy we hit up the Brooklyn Bridge…my oh my.  It’s one of the most famous Bridges and I’ve seen it in at least a dozen movies since I’ve been home.

a Long trek ahead
Walking….
People were out jogging on the bridge.
This site what somewhat scary…the bridge would shake when cars would go over

Little Italy After Dark

Mom had planned a few trips around the city of different places she wanted to go.  One of those…Little Italy.  Little did we know Rice to Riches was a stones throw to the Little Italy Festival.  I’m not much of an Italian food lover, so I sat this eating adventure out.

Meat on a Fire Pit…Really this was happening
Again, people were everywhere!
Look….we’re in Little Italy….Dad couldn’t believe what he was seeing.

37 Spring Street : Rice to Riches

Special Thanks to my old E-Comm teacher, Ms. Whitfield, for this recommendation.  Rice to Riches.  It’s now a stop for the future trips to NYC.  Who would have thought Rice Pudding would be such a popular treat?  I love the stuff, but dear ole’ Dad doesn’t care for it…he DID eat it though.

We ordered “TAKE ME TO TIRAMISU”

Dad’s reaction…who knows.
Taking in the Scenery
Yummmmmm
I was going to order this & have it shipped home to…Ms. Whitfield for the awesome recommendation
