Oklahoma Storm Season

I’m starting to miss storm season.  You know the kind that bring tornadoes, lots of rain…and hail just as long as my car is inside the garage.  The kind of weather you can feel.  That humid feeling  when you know the weather is going to be bad, but get all 9 kinds of excited inside.  This is why I love Okie Land…the weather.

The hot summery days where the grass is green, it’s warm outside and you can see the rain in the distance.  These are the storms I miss right now, but they’ll be back in a little over a month and I’ll be happy once more.

Even the rug-rats love the stormy weather.  They’d sit at the front door and watch it roll through if I’d let them, but typically I’m afraid of hail busting out my front glass and windows, so we stay in the living room glued to Gary.  All of you Okies will know who I’m talking about, but for those who have no idea, it’s Gary England — one of the Top meteorologists (at least that’s what I think).

See what I mean…moments before the hail starts…Norman winds up with some amazing looking clouds.  How could you not get excited about this??  …maybe I should just take up storm chasing instead of a Bachelors in Management Information Systems?!  Nahhhhh….

Cold Weather Style

Oklahoma is cold.  Not as cold as it tends to be around this kind of year, but it’s getting there…

…and because I love my Nike Tempo shorts too much, I’ve opted in wearing dance leggings (yes, I just said dance; as in ballet and the Nutcracker).  I did  take dance lessons once upon a time….

Gorgeous Day, Huh?

The other day I had to make an early morning trip somewhere and while I was patiently waiting in the parking lot I took a look at the sky & saw this.  Beaut-iful, isn’t it?  Oh I just looooove mornings like this.  Although, for now, I love my sleep just a little too much, so I’ll settle for looking at the sky  at dusk when the pretty neon colors decide to come out.

So this is what the sun looks like when it comes up.  Great to know I caught a glimpse of it before summer officially ended and fall began.

Catching Some Moonshine

…come on y’all.  Don’t take me literally here.  I’m not really a moonshine kinda girl.  Although, I’ve never personally had the stuff.  I can say it was almost always stored in the bottom cabinet at my grandparents house.  I actually thought it was water once and brought it to my Grandpa, only to be told to never touch it again.  Ha!

So I decided to lay out back while the moon was up and nice and pretty and just enjoy the view.  Enjoy the dogs chasing each other around the yard.  Enjoy the soft breeze blowing through the backyard.  Enjoy the moment I was living in.  So here I am, catching some moonshine.

Twas’ A Good Morning

Aren’t those some good lookin’ legs?  I’m sorta partial to them too, even if they do have a bruise or two….

I love relaxing in my hammock in the early mornings or late evenings.  I’ve been beating the Oklahoma heat by doing this and when I’m out in the hottest parts of the Okie Day, I can typically be found in the pool.  According to our OK Meteorologists here in the state Oklahoma is closing in on being the hottest summer in our state’s history.  Quite impressive and very very abnormal.  I just hope our state will get relief soon, Lord knows we need a break and LOTS of rain!

Breezy June Nights

Isn’t this great?  I LOVE June nights.  Fire…check.  Pink Laptop….check.  Something cold in my had…check.  Life is complete and I’m one happy girl.  I’m just gonna kick back & relax.  Y’all have a good night!

Oklahoma June Sunset

I must say, with all of this heat.  Seeing the sun go down not only brings great joy to my state, but it’s pretty dang awesome to see the colors our sky has.  Pinks, Oranges and Blue.  I just love the mix of colors, don’t you?
