Cold Weather Style

Oklahoma is cold.  Not as cold as it tends to be around this kind of year, but it’s getting there…

…and because I love my Nike Tempo shorts too much, I’ve opted in wearing dance leggings (yes, I just said dance; as in ballet and the Nutcracker).  I did  take dance lessons once upon a time….

Gorgeous Day, Huh?

The other day I had to make an early morning trip somewhere and while I was patiently waiting in the parking lot I took a look at the sky & saw this.  Beaut-iful, isn’t it?  Oh I just looooove mornings like this.  Although, for now, I love my sleep just a little too much, so I’ll settle for looking at the sky  at dusk when the pretty neon colors decide to come out.

So this is what the sun looks like when it comes up.  Great to know I caught a glimpse of it before summer officially ended and fall began.

Catching Some Moonshine

…come on y’all.  Don’t take me literally here.  I’m not really a moonshine kinda girl.  Although, I’ve never personally had the stuff.  I can say it was almost always stored in the bottom cabinet at my grandparents house.  I actually thought it was water once and brought it to my Grandpa, only to be told to never touch it again.  Ha!

So I decided to lay out back while the moon was up and nice and pretty and just enjoy the view.  Enjoy the dogs chasing each other around the yard.  Enjoy the soft breeze blowing through the backyard.  Enjoy the moment I was living in.  So here I am, catching some moonshine.

Twas’ A Good Morning

Aren’t those some good lookin’ legs?  I’m sorta partial to them too, even if they do have a bruise or two….

I love relaxing in my hammock in the early mornings or late evenings.  I’ve been beating the Oklahoma heat by doing this and when I’m out in the hottest parts of the Okie Day, I can typically be found in the pool.  According to our OK Meteorologists here in the state Oklahoma is closing in on being the hottest summer in our state’s history.  Quite impressive and very very abnormal.  I just hope our state will get relief soon, Lord knows we need a break and LOTS of rain!

Breezy June Nights

Isn’t this great?  I LOVE June nights.  Fire…check.  Pink Laptop….check.  Something cold in my had…check.  Life is complete and I’m one happy girl.  I’m just gonna kick back & relax.  Y’all have a good night!

Oklahoma June Sunset

I must say, with all of this heat.  Seeing the sun go down not only brings great joy to my state, but it’s pretty dang awesome to see the colors our sky has.  Pinks, Oranges and Blue.  I just love the mix of colors, don’t you?

A Bit of Sun

Make no mistake.  I love laying out.  Nothing can compare to laying out in the hot summer sun.  Feeling the light summer breeze drift across your back and just let your mind wander.  Summer is grand and I’m sure the boys all agree.

Getting some color to my chalky white skin is the perfect plan this summer.  I sure do love summer time.

With few clouds in the sky, the hot summer sun beating down, a light breeze and having dogs running through the yard trampling you is definitely high on my list of summer achievements.  I’m going to chill out, drink something fun and enjoy it while I can.

April Showers Bring Zebra Boots

I’m ready for rain, so bring it on Oklahoma.

Fires in March

It’s chilly tonight.  The fire is going and I’ve moved a mattress in front of the fireplace to keep warm.  I love cooler weather, bundling up in my comfy clothes and watching the fire crackle and waver.

Isn’t it so pretty.  I’m all nice and toasty warm.  Think I’ll call it a night and go to sleep…mmmm….sleep.

We’re Ready for Snow!

Petey & I are rockin’ our RED for Heart Month.  Although, it’s getting ready to snow here, so we’re both bundled up tightly.  Looking forward to getting a little bit of snow, just not feet of snow.  Hopefully all will be well with the world in a few days and the snow will GO AWAY for good!  One can hope & wish, right?

Follow-Up to Snow, Snow, Go Away

I shot this with my phone on 1/29, I didn’t have my Flip on me and my phone was easily accessible as it was in my hand.  It’s not quite to where it was at on Christmas Day this year, but it got close.  Hopefully this is our very last snow until next year.  Sure wish all the school closings affected me this year, but since I opted for more online classes than regular ones and my electricity is still on, there’s nothing I can do – still have to go to “class”.

I’m getting ready to bundle myself up & go play with Ellie in the backyard.  Wish us luck.

Snow….Snow…Go Away

Roomie & I took a trip to town today.  It was an eventful day to say the least.  We’re okay.  Everything is okay.  I would just prefer not to trek out in this storm any more.  It’s currently 8:20 & it’s still snowing.  I think it’s time to start wishing this snow away.  I have things to do & places to go.  I hate it when things are closed & I can’t go anywhere.  Drives me insane.

Here are some photos of today.  Look for a few videos later, I’m working on rendering them into a different format.

On our way to the destination.  Seemed like it took forever to make it less than 3 miles.

Robinson Street, Crazy isn’t it?
Sitting & Waiting
Driving….Driving…Driving…
not to worry, I was going less than 15mph
the Trashcans will not move beyond where they’re at…
it took a lot for me to move the one behind the Roomie’s car
You can’t even see the actual road or the sidewalks in my neighborhood.
Fresh Snow….makes me want to go skiing

Ellie's Experience with Snow

I took Ellie out yesterday in the snow & she had a BLAST!  I don’t think she knew what to think about this new Winter Wonderland.  After awhile she got used to it & just went with the flow bouncing over the tricky places in the snow.  She was fun to watch, despite the fact that I had to give her a warm bath after our fun in the snow to wash all those snow balls off.  I’m thinking I just might make a snowman tomorrow…or an igloo.  We’ll just have to wait & see!

We Got a White Christmas Afterall

Well it’s 8:00PM and it’s STILL snowing!  I could barely make it out my back door to let Ellie go out & do her business.  I had to shovel at least 30 minutes so her feet would actually touch the ground (I had already shoveled earlier today).

Ellie Romping in the Snow…

I wanted to see what Ellie would do in the snow, so I stuck her in it!

10inches…Really?

Ellie is dying to go out & take care  of business….meanwhile I’m logging in photos the great amounts of SNOW we’re getting here in Norman.  It’s amazing & I’ve never seen Oklahoma get anything like this!  I took the photos at 3:15 PM.

It's Really Comin' Now

In a matter of minutes from my last photos – a Blizzard took over.  I wish I was kidding.  There is now a ruler stuck in the snow to see how much snow we do get.  As of 12:30 – the total was 2.5 inches. It’s now 12:50 and it’s well over 2.5 inches, but not at 3 quite yet.

How much more are we going to get?  This doesn’t surpass what I’ve seen, but Gary England is calling for more.  Really, Gary?
It really doesn’t seem like it’s ever going to end.  I’m already tired of seeing white.  I’ll take my brown grass back over this stuff.

Sleet & Snow in Norman

Photos were taken around 9AM and it’s now pushing 11.  There have been talks of shutting I-40 down…because OK is in a Blizzard.  Yep, a Blizzard.  This should be a fun few days of having to stay indoors with my sis.

The backyard.  It doesn’t look like much, but supposedly there will be 7 inches on the ground by late tonight.  I’ll believe it when I see it.  Right now I’m just not sure about this Blizzard everyone is predicting.
Looks like a normal snowy Oklahoma day, doesn’t it?  Nothing special about this it doesn’t look bad at all.
The icy frozen road.  You couldn’t pay me to get out and drive on this.  I have mentioned that I cried to get my license, right?  Like I said it’s better if I don’t drive.

a Tornado…in Norman…Say Whaaaa?

I experienced my first real tornado on June 12, 2009 and let me tell you it was an experience.

The touchdown happened around 2 miles directly East of the house.  You could actually see the tornado between the power flashes & lightening.  Although, Roomie & I didn’t truly “see” it until we went for a joy ride in our neighborhood.   Between frantically yelling to hit the gas and turn we wound up back at home, but only after traveling no more than 1/4 of a mile in our neighborhood.   We were probably quite the sight to see.

The tornado did pass over us and no one in Norman was injured.

No Snow, but Plenty of Homework

That’s right.  There wasn’t anything to roll around in when I woke up Saturday morning.   Luckily, my school was canceled, so I had a day to myself.   Basically school was canceled over a few snow flakes in wet roads.  I was very much ready to hang out in doors without power if I had to.

There isn’t much to report on for the weekend.  I heavily cleaned the house and sacked a few gigantic trash bags full of things that just need to taken away. I’m thinking another garage sale, but that won’t come until the third week in May.   When school is out and just before my nose job.

Seriously.  There will be a garage sale.   I’ve already got a bunch sacked up.   Although, it probably won’t be as big as last year…we will see.

There are a few things lined up for the week.

On the list of things to do:

  • Accounting test Monday morning
  • Accounting homework due Monday
  • Accounting test next Monday
  • Bus. Finance homework due Wednesday
  • Business Finance test on Tuesday
  • Business Finance test next week
  • Economics homework to do before Saturday
  • Economics Final on Saturday (second class I’ve completed this semester)

Literally, my week is already gone. I’m hoping next week will be much better.
