Saturday Night

Saturday night is already planned.  My night of fun will start at 7ish, I do believe.  Not sure what time I’ll be home.   I don’t even know what the so called plans are.

All I know is that I’ll get to buzz around OKC in a sports car w/o the top down (at my request) and eat ice cream cake.  I don’t sound spoiled to you, do I?  Ha Ha.  Sounds like the perfect Saturday night to me….which is why I will be sleeping in Sunday morning.

No, Saturday will not be spent with Mr. November or Neighbor Boy, but instead w/just a friend who has no nickname yet.

Things to do:

1. Clean House
2. Find Cute Top to Wear (I have many to try on & a roomie to critique them all)
3. Dig Out a Cute Purse (not “the Coach”, probably my Bandolino one)
4. Find Cute Shoes (that won’t kill my feet)
5. Sure I Can Think of More Things To Do

Perfect Date Night

The day started off sort of rough.  I spent the majority of the day cleaning; doing laundry, clearing off the table, but mostly just picking up everything in sight.  Might I add that the house is currently spotless.  Minus the mess that Roomie made in the kitchen last night from her dinner party, her room and the office.  The rest of the house is spotless.

I spent forever getting ready and did a bottle job to my hair (it’s semi-permanent) which will fade and look awesome just in time for Thanksgiving.  I tried on random outfits to the point where Roomie had to annouce if a certain shirt was what I was going to wear….it showed cleavage big time. No, that’s not the shirt I wore, nor was it the shirt I was planning to wear.

I didn’t get a phone call til’ around 10, I normally start my bed time routine about that time.  But, the date had run into problems getting to Norman and wanted to surprise me; which is why he didn’t answer his phone.  Not Cool.  I thought he was going to pick me up, but instead he blows through my exit from I-35 and heads straight to Coaches.  I’m left to fend for myself, so I hop in my car and take off to Coaches.

I think I beat him a few times at Pool (probably just got lucky) since I rarely play and sometimes have trouble actually hitting the ball with the cue.  Which usually entitles me to a do-over.  We went to the Library and made fun of all sorts of people that were there, chilled at the Mont (which is my favorite place to go & chill & order Blue Hawaiian drinks), and finally we went to a club up the street from my house.

We did have to go check my date in at the hotel in town.  He didn’t stay with me, but instead stayed at the Embassy Suites over on the edge of Norman.  I knew he was going to get some place to stay instead of driving back, so I named off everywhere I could think of.  Finally, I remembered that the Embassy Suites had just opened, so that’s where he wound up.  Not the Motel 6, but the Embassy Suites.
I was home by around 3AM this morning and seriously haven’t pulled that stunt since my Freshman year at East Central.  I was yawning literally by the time it was time to tell the date goodbye.  Much fun was had by all.

Mr. November

Yes, I wound up being serenaded today.  In my car, which was parked in the driveway, with Roomie starring at me from the office window.  It just made my day even better.  Nothing like a random phone call and some sweet guy singing & playing his guitar. Mr. November by The National.  It’s Great.

Looking for Astronauts is a fav as well as Mr. November (as of today).  Also, if you’re looking for good music try, Mae.  They’re amazing and all downloaded onto my iPod.  I’ve been strumming it along my side for the past few weeks listening to their songs.

Today was very eventful….but I enjoyed every minute of it.

P.S. No, it’s not Neighbor Boy.

Yes, I Did

…have a date last night.  Yes, I did go see the new James Bond movie – but couldn’t tell you what the name of it was.  Yes, I did have fun.  And Yes, I was home before midnight.

AND No, it wasn’t the the boy from down the street, I won’t give details, I just had fun.

Tornadoes are Poppin’ Up Everywhere!

So, I’m sitting here – watching the weather.   Gary (England) the greatest meteorologist alive is on TV right now.

Why you ask?  The weather is somewhat terrible, currently there are Tornado Warnings, Watches, and such.   At one point it looked like it was going to miss us, then it goes more east instead of north and then it looks like it’s going to hit us.  I’m not sure what to do exactly.

Roomie and I were talking about tornado shelters.   She said that I needed to call Neighbor Boy down the street to see if we could hide in his storm shelter.  I just gave her the evil eye and told her “NO”.   I have searched Google for tornado shelters and haven’t had any luck.   So, Roomie suggested either the closet near the front door, the closet in her room, her bathroom, but nothing remotely close to my room.  We’ll see if anything happens.   We’ve got the blankets and flashlights gathered, just gotta rip the mattress off the bed and place it over us wherever we’re going…but we’ll be okay.  We’re BRIGHT kids and know what we’re doing (for the first time in our lives).

Luckily G.E. or any of the news crew haven’t cussed like in past televised tornado sightings.   It hasn’t gotten very exciting yet….

….but maybe in the next 30 minutes, something will happen.

Tonight’s Events

The dinner party tonight was a blast.  After cleaning all day and getting ready for about a hour and a half (some with Roomie’s help) I was extremely ready for tonight.  Roomie answered the door cause I was still kind of getting ready and evidently he had blocked the look out thing on the door and so when Roomie opened the door she said she was trusting him since she couldn’t seen out (she already knew it was him).

Anyhoo, I cooked the meal while he was here believe it or not.  He did an amazing job cooking steak I must say.  I think I shocked him though, he wasn’t expecting what I did for him (at all).  I told him I had to look up what he could eat and plan it.

We sat at the table for 2 hours literally and talked about odd and random things like Sooner Mall and what him and his brother did growing up.  I would have hated to raise the two of them together!

Overall it was a great night.  School starts tomorrow and as long as I get ALL of my work done by lunch, I have a lunch date.  He’ll be over with his gigantic bowl of salad to watch the movie we didn’t watch tonight.  Luckily mom didn’t say much about that (she’s getting the HINT that I’m trying to finish school).

Oh My, It’s Already Sunday

School starts tomorrow believe it or not.  I don’t really want to go back, but I’m ready to be done with school (well at least basic wise). I’m enrolled in 12 hours of online classes and one 4 hour Physiology class.  I’ve got everything all planned out in my planner.  I’m going to follow it and will be done with 3 classes in March.  I’m excited and yes, mom – I know I will NOT have a social life.

Neighbor Boy is coming over tonight for dinner.  I decided to try Asparagus since it’s on his “Can Have” list.  It’s not bad, I actually like it.  Roomie and I did a test run last night on food we’re cooking and I must say, dinner is going to be amazing.  On the dinner menu tonight is Asparagus cooked in olive oil, Salad with cucumbers and Olive Garden Dressing, and Top Sirloin Steak.  Mom said something about how much dinner was going to cost me since it’s a “special” dinner.  I can’t believe some of the things her and Roomie come up with on a daily basis about this guy.  For instance, Roomie said that she couldn’t wait to go ring shopping (I swear that kid, it’s like she’s attached at my hip or something).

On a lighter note, the house is SPOTLESS! I’ve got a bit of touch up work to do in Roomie’s bathroom and my room and it will be amazing.

Work Can be Fun

While working yesterday, Roomie sent me a text saying that she saw Neighbor Boy while she was out in the front yard and he waved at her.  She said there must be some civility between the two of us since he waved at her.  Then, after she sees him, he calls me (while I’m at work).  I returned his call on my break that I got and found out that he’s been in Texas setting up that multi-million dollar software for a company.

I invited him over for dinner on Sunday.  He said that he was watching what he ate and Roomie busted up laughing, then I asked him what and he said Phase ONE off of South Beach Diet….even more laughter coming from Roomie and I.  Needless to say I had to research what was on the Phase One diet and came up with a menu.  Sirloin and a certain veggies and a movie that I have yet to pick out.

I think Roomie is fretting because while she is at work Sunday – I will be cooking.  I think she thinks my cooking is going to scare him off or something…or I’ll burn the house down.  Either way, I can’t wait for Sunday.

So, I’m an OSU Fan Too?

I watched OSU play Indiana last night on the 50″ big screen.  I’m definitely becoming spoiled. I want a plasma now.

Needless to say I cheered for OSU (I didn’t have a choice) and they won.  It wasn’t really a close game, but I’m glad they won.  I must say that Neighbor Boy does get into football games (maybe a little too much).  He’s actually a bit better than my dad when it comes to yelling at the TV.  Seriously, the entire night if the OSU players weren’t living up to their rep he’d let them know.  It’s not like OSU could hear him or anything, just funny to see him yell when they didn’t do something right.  I came home after the game.  Neighbor Boy is in Texas demoing a product to the President of some big shot company.

Roomie and I rang in the new year with pie, Borat & Sparkling grape juice.  I had fun with her at least.  We both went to bed early though, before midnight.  I can’t stay awake and alert at all hours of the night anymore.  Old age has set in.  No more wild nights for me.

We’re off to Duncan for a few days.  Can’t wait to see my Papaw.  Roomie and I always give him a hard time about everything and he dishes it right back.  Plus, I love hearing what knowledge he has on my mom and uncle.  All I can say is THANK GOD I don’t carry ALL of their genes.  I swear, my family is enough to scare off any one.

2007 Holiday Bowl

I’m finally understanding football.  The idea of blitzes, holdings, and the penalty when you throw the ball just to be throwing it when no one is around you; called grounding…or is it intentional grounding?  I’m slowly getting there all the while,  I’m developing a vast knowledge of this famous American sport.  Can’t wait to see what I’ll learn next.

Texas won.  I came home around half time (as in 9PM).  Roomie stopped by after mom and dad left.  She came over to give me candy (she drove 5 houses down just to give me candy).  I think she secretly wanted to see Neighbor Boy’s house.  All is well otherwise.  We’re going out Sunday and possibly for New Years as well.  Just going to have to wait and see.

I’m working tomorrow and psyched!  I’m almost doing entire shifts on my own.  Can’t wait til’ tomorrow.  Hoping the time will fly by, as it always does.

Baked Potato Soup

Yesterday was busy.  Originally Neighbor Boy was going to come over for dinner, but due to a slight change in plans with him being sick, he didn’t.  Good thing too cause I sure didn’t need his germs.

Roomie slaved away making baked potato soup for our guest to ensure that I didn’t scare him off with my cooking (thanks Roomie!). Neighbor Boy calls and says he won’t be able to make it for dinner, so I suggest I give him a “to go” version of  Roomie’s masterpiece.  He stopped by around 6 or so to pick up the food..and me being the nice person that I am sent him home with hot fresh bread straight from Panera’s oven to my oven and then to him.  I got a call later saying that the soup was “speechless good”.  Way to go Roomie!!

Roomie even sent a metha thing to plug into his outlet so he could be well enough to play Scattagories with her this weekend.  I swear those kids, one says one thing and the other mouths back it’s a vicious cycle.  Roomie said that she would forgive him for being sick and that she would have to beat him at Scattagories next time, ha ha.  Neighbor Boy didn’t take light to that and told Roomie he could beat her with his cold, measles and mumps…kids.

Tonight I’m watching the Holiday Bowl.  No idea what that really is, think it’s like the orange bowl or something.  Should be fun.  I have to take more Potato Soup (Neighbor Boy has been begging for more soup all day).  Roomie is just going to have to become a full time cook now.  HA!

Cattlemen’s Steakhouse :: My Amazing Birthday

I turned 23 last week.  I know my cousin and mom were wondering what exactly my sister picked for me to wear, we’ll I’m not telling.  It turns out, Roomie did very well picking out my clothes and I wasn’t the only one who thought so.  I had a terrific time with Neighbor Boy on my Birthday Date.  It was great getting to celebrate my Birthday with a cute guy and a nice slab of beef!

Cattleman’s was amazing!  If you ever go (it’s somewhere in OKC) order the Blue Ribbon (it’s steak) – it melts in your mouth, thats how good it is.  Neighbor Boy took me by Bob Stoops’ house, needless to say I really wasn’t impressed.  It’s a moderate home compared to the neighborhood he lives in.  I also saw Bart Conners house and the house that my date grew up in (his parents still live in Norman).  Then it was time for my date to turn in so he took me back to my house (I was home by 10).

There was also a story of missing pants or being pantsless as I was walking into the house with Neighbor Boy.  I’m not quite sure on the details, but maybe you can talk Roomie into sharing her story sometime.
