Dirt Bikes, In My Blood?

Talk about a blast from the past.  With Motorcycle Man in the picture I felt the need to really dig out my first motorcycle photo.  This photo was snapped when I was around 18 months, I realize I was a very petite 18 month old.  I didn’t grow very much from then to now, considering I’m just shy of being 4 ’11.  Man to look at this photo and think of how far I’ve come in life is unreal.  Please ignore Dad’s daisy dukes, it was a fad back then.  A fad that I hope never makes a come back.  So here’s to my dirt bike days that lie ahead of me.  Can’t wait to see what I’ll accomplish out on the track!

Flashback Friday :: Golfing with Pops

So when I say I’ve golfed since I was basically born, it’s true.  Just take a look….and give Pops a break, it was the 80′s I’m sure those short shorts were in style back then.

I’m sure Pops sunk that putt
13 years after this picture, I played this very same course….on my JR High Golf Team.  I wound up skunking my coach the first time I really played this course.  I think he was impressed as well as the guys that were on the team…did I mention I was the only girl on the team?

Truck Shopping

Yesterday was spent truck shopping with my Dad.  Let’s just say after kicking the tires for almost 3hrs, he walked away with a pretty sweet ride.  It has more gizmos & gadgets than I can explain to him right now, so we’re taking it one step at a time.  Just explaining the Bluetooth took time, I’m still explaining that darn Bluetooth.

I think he’s going to really enjoy this truck.  He made phone calls all the way home last night.  Finally he called me from his truck, I didn’t recognize the number on the phone and answered it anyway.  Low & behold – he had called me from OnStar.  Silly Dad.  Turns out his phone was having problems and he couldn’t get through.  He said his phone would turn on & the shut off, the Bluetooth was failing.  I was very puzzled by this.  Finally, I told him – get home & plug your phone into the charger.  Wouldn’t you know, he ran the battery down on his phone!  That goober.  I don’t think he’s ever completely ran the battery down on his phone. I have a feeling we’re going to have to get him a car charger now, cause he’s really enjoying the Bluetooth.  The remote start is also a favorite too, after I showed him how to work it.  Pictures to come of the new Beast.

Wordless Wednesday :: 60

The number of candles that should have graced Dad’s Birthday cake this year.  Instead, we opted for two so we wouldn’t catch the house on fire.

Have I Mentioned I love being Chauffeured?

I had a chauffeur for 6 weeks and it was marvelous.  Granted, it took awhile to get anywhere, but I loved getting out…it was great!

Mom had the duty of being my Chauffeur

A Night of DirecTV

So, it’s nearly 8pm and I’m in Shawnee watching the Mom & Dad’s TV.  It’s amazing, so many channels, so many movies.  Wow, I’m wishing we had this in Norman.  I’ve got my night all planned (at least movie wise), all the way until 4AM.  This should be a hoot.  I’m getting my fill of Discovery Health, TLC, MTV (there are some shows that are worth watching) as well as HBO and the History Channel.  I love them all, but it’s just too darn expensive to get over in Norman.

Supposedly Baby Bro was sick, but somehow he made a speedy recovery.  I just came to referee and to make sure he stayed indoors and he didn’t sneak out to go anywhere.  Mom & Dad went out of town and I got sent to babysit – what a way to spend a Saturday night.

No idea what the plans are for the coming week.  I might go see Neighbor Boy some night, I told him I would cook food for him and Roomie some time this week.  It seems like thats all I do these days – cook, clean and go to school (oh and add work in there too). We’ll just have to see what happens.

So, I’m an OSU Fan Too?

I watched OSU play Indiana last night on the 50″ big screen.  I’m definitely becoming spoiled. I want a plasma now.

Needless to say I cheered for OSU (I didn’t have a choice) and they won.  It wasn’t really a close game, but I’m glad they won.  I must say that Neighbor Boy does get into football games (maybe a little too much).  He’s actually a bit better than my dad when it comes to yelling at the TV.  Seriously, the entire night if the OSU players weren’t living up to their rep he’d let them know.  It’s not like OSU could hear him or anything, just funny to see him yell when they didn’t do something right.  I came home after the game.  Neighbor Boy is in Texas demoing a product to the President of some big shot company.

Roomie and I rang in the new year with pie, Borat & Sparkling grape juice.  I had fun with her at least.  We both went to bed early though, before midnight.  I can’t stay awake and alert at all hours of the night anymore.  Old age has set in.  No more wild nights for me.

We’re off to Duncan for a few days.  Can’t wait to see my Papaw.  Roomie and I always give him a hard time about everything and he dishes it right back.  Plus, I love hearing what knowledge he has on my mom and uncle.  All I can say is THANK GOD I don’t carry ALL of their genes.  I swear, my family is enough to scare off any one.
