Secret Is Out. I’ve Been On the East Coast.

If you follow Twitter or are a IRL (In Real Life) friend, you know I took a trip the last part of February.  A trip that had been 100+ days in the making.  Which is why I was beyond excited when the day finally came for me to get the heck out of Dodge and see one very special guy.

The sun came up during my flight.  Yes, during.  Talk about spectacular.  I guess this is what happens when you have a 6AM flight?  …and for the record…I hate early mornings, but didn’t mind flying out of Oklahoma on the first flight available.

I took full use of the wifi we had on the plane.  I mostly just read Twitter and Facebook and chatted with friends back in Oklahoma.  Confused more people than I ever thought possible because I kept getting messages and emails asking me if I missed my flight — instead I responded with, I’m in flight now.  Made my day.

Loved.  Loved.  Loved getting to see the sun come up over the clouds.  Turbulence was non-existent during both my flights which made the trip in that much more bearable (flying wise).

Almost to Philadelphia.  It just seemed like my flight was taking forever at this point.  Puddle jumping airports definitely wasn’t all it was cracked up to be and quite honestly I think I’ll be taking a direct flight next time.

Of course I was bound to get bored from a 2 hour long flight, so I snapped more pictures of myself, talked to my Momma some more over the wifi waves, chatted with friends back home and got a lovely message from my cousin telling me not to do anything he wouldn’t do….  I wonder about my family sometimes.  :: shakes head ::

…and this is where I started to get antsy….waiting for the plane to descend…  Because 30 minutes from this shot I got to see one amazing guy.

….stay tuned….

Our Cabin ROCKED the Talent Show

Since y’all have begun to understand just how much Camp Cavett made an impact on my life, how bout I let you in on just how crazy & fun Camp Cavett can be!  For the friends who have gone to CC, you all know what I’m talking about and the impact that it brought to your lives.

The cabin counselors one year…I’d be the one in the middle on the left.  Standing next to one of my long time HB’s  that I’ve known since I was  a few months old.  Let’s just say we had one of the best cabins that year.  Truly blessed to have such an amazing group of friends.

Our group did the Macarena this particular year.  If that little dance number dates me, then so be it.  They did fabulous for only having a day of practice.  However, if you look closely, you’ll see all of my old dance costumes in the background.  I’m sooooo glad we got to use these and do something fun with this great group of girls.  They had a complete blast!  Just look at those smiles!!

As you can see, the talent show guys can go a little ahem, nuts?  It’s all in great fun and definitely brings all of the kiddos to their feet cheering and clapping along to whatever is happening on the dance floor.

…and of course the counselors were jamming along with them as well.  We all had a blast and still do to this day.

Show Off

Ladies & Gentlemen we’ve got a poser on our hands.  Ellie has started posing for the camera.  I kid you not.  This dog now has to be where the camera is…AND will even do tricks while you snap away.  Rotten?  Nope.

If only I could get Z Dog to do this, too.  She’s a little crazier, therefore making it even harder to snap a picture of anything but a black blurrrrr running across the shot.

Pinterest Fun…Quite Possibly An Addiction

Like every other blogger I know — we all have our Pinterest addictions.  Some a little worse than others…

I’ve been fairly busy taking stuff around my house and revamping it or just creating something from nothing.  I’m good at that too!

Artistic artwork I hung on an empty wall until I eventually replaced it with something a little more permanent.  It did look great while it was up though!  Any ideas what I made this creation from?  Bet y’all have no idea.

Something that’s even more thrifty is taking an empty Lysol container, covering it in modge podge and scrapbook paper, and then sticking Wal-Mart/Target bags in it.  Kid you not — this is the coolest thing I’ve created thus far.  I even rolled the bags just right so they’d come out one by one.  Neat, huh?

While in the season of pinning and thinking of what I could create next I hit the local Goodwill and found two clear glass lamps.  Something that I looked pretty cool in the store.  I then filled them with balls from Hobby Lobby and purchased new lamp shades…HELLO new lamps.  Cost me a whopping $16.00 for BOTH lamps after I purchased everything for them.  If that isn’t a steal, I’m not sure what is.

The full effect with both lamps.  I’d say it turned out great.  I’ve definitely received a ton of compliments on them.

Last up close shot of the lamp I did.  Marvelous.

Rice to Riches

I’m having some serious NY cravings….and lucky for me this NY treat is found in GLUTEN FREE versions!  I’ve done my GF research on eating in the big NY, can’t ya tell??

….I just wish I could hop on a plane and eat there now.  Hopefully this little craving will be rectified soon and then I’ll continue to dream of some Rice to Riches until my next stop in NYC.  If y’all only knew what you were missing out on, this is seriously good stuff…and very addictive.

MLH Valentine’s Party 2012

It’s February.  Which means partying with my favorite group of young people….and littles.

The “Kids” of our group.  …and yes, after all these years everyone in this shot is still considered to be a kid.  That’s a term that’ll never ever be outgrown.

Kiddos & their LifeSavers.  Looks like everyone had a blast hanging out!

Enjoying the party and each others company.  Everyone always has a great time when we get together.  Fun. Food.  Lots of catching up. …and PLAYING!!  What person wouldn’t be more excited by this??

Mucho fun was had by all.  I don’t think there was a game left unplayed, a toy left untouched or a craft left uncreated.

A majority of the group.  Kids….Parents…and LifeSavers. =)

Air hockey games got intense.

…and of course this party wouldn’t be complete without one of the tiniest babies I had ever held.  What a fab way to end my day and what a great group of people I celebrated with!

The Many Colors of the Okie College Girl

How about a blast from the past?  I may be hung by various family members, but it’s all good.  I’ve stumbled upon the many colors I’ve dyed my hair since being a 5th grader.  At least that’s when the “hair adventure” started, thus leading to numerous colors.

For instance, 8th grade….before braces…and my first car… I was a blonde.  I blame my mother for attempting to hi-light my hair.  Let’s just say my hair was pulled through every single hole of a hi-lighting cap which left me as a blonde.  The funny moments that one goes through in life.

For Christmas one year — I decided it would be fabulous to “grow out” my lucious blonde locks (ha!).  This was not my finest hair do moment….

In a later attempt ie. ….after obtaining said license….car….high school status…I decided to try out my almost natural hair color.  Said attempt didn’t stay very long.

…and one just for good measure…. PINK!  Oh yes, this Oklahoma girl did just that…and just for the record, my parents were not pleased.
