Thanksgiving Prep

*Ellie is entertaining herself. {Papaw would be proud}

*Roomie & Jessica are text messaging back & forth. {annoying beeps are coming from her phone}

*John Tucker Must Die playing on my iPod.

I made a terrific pot of Chicken & Dumplings.  Seriously, they’re just that good.   It may be my new dish to take to Thaksgiving next year.   I have a year to perfect it and make it snazzy that will give rave reviews.   Yes, a 24 y/o will be able to accomplish that and then some.  For those keeping track.  I WILL be making a 3 layer Princess Cake to top off of my Thanksgiving dishes.

I’m also going to post a few new pictures of things around the house.  I’ve redone a coffee table Roomie bought, added some pictures of of Nicole’s kids to our walls & also added a few new storage contraptions to the garage.

Never knew all these household organizers & ordinary furniture would make me so happy.

Day After Xmas & All Through the House

The Christmas lights are down.  All Christmas decor has been packed away in their respective bins, tubs & bags.  The only monster left to tackle is the enormous Christmas tree.  Life feels a little less cluttered, but I can only imagine what our house will look like next year.  We did get Ellie a new stocking, which matches our matching stockings.  {She is passed out in her crate, belly up at the moment.}

This household arose around 5AM this morning and didn’t quit partying until around 5PM.  Mostly because Roomie left to go to Target and I thought my bed looked GOOD.  It’s now 11:50PM and Roomie  into bed for the first time and I am getting ready to grab the iPod, start a movie and go to sleep.  It’s my nightly ritual, I fall asleep to a movie playing on my iPod.  I have no idea how on Earth I lived without this thing.

Other funny stories from this week have included.

*Dad discovering I have a iPod jack in my G6.  {note: this is not a standard piece of equipment on this model car.  I actually did some handy dandy mechanical work on my own car.}

*Roomie nearly being peed on by Hank.

*How Rudy came to live at our house.

*Finally having the question answered as to why Oklahoma bridges are all torn up.

*Riding pantless from Shawnee to Norman. {all the while having conversations about “what if” a cop pulled us over & if it’d be indecent exposure.}

External Hard Drives are the Best

My computer has been completely redone. The hard drive has been wiped clean and now I must start from scratch. It’s not going to be too bad, given the amazing toy I have.

I purchased a My Book (Western Digital) awhile ago and have been loving it ever since.  I recommend every one purchase this new cheap contraption.  I got a 1 TB (which is 1,000GB (Gigabytes) and it has everything backed up for my computer & Roomie’s too. Pictures, Music, Games & Documents.  You name it, this external hard drive has it on it.

Among having to re-jump my hard drive it has been a non-eventful day. Mom went home earlier today after doing some Norman (city) shopping and finishing her Christmas shopping for Kansas. The rest of the evening will be spent downloading software and such for my computer and getting things back to normal once more.

The game plan for tomorrow will probably entail doing some mild decor work.  Roomie bought a coffee table that needs to be refinished so it can be brought in the house and so our cars can park in the garage. Be on the look out for pictures of some of the new things around the house.

I’m Done Counting

I turned a whopping 24 today.  I won’t be doing anything exciting.  No birthday cake, candles or parties OR dates.  I’m staying in and will probably be doing some much needed cleaning and laundry.

Oh & for the record, my birthday will not be celebrated next year.  I’m done counting. 24 is as old as I’m ever going to get.

Christmas Came Early for Ellie

For those keeping count.  This is Ellie’s 3rd pet bed.  She totaled the first one we got her.  She started demoing the second one we got her (we took that one back) and now finally we found her one that is indestructable!  Seriously, this pet bed is much better and cooler than both of the beds Roomie & I sleep in at night!  Honestly, did you ever consider giving a dog a bed with memory foam?!  Roomie & I did sit on & lay all over this bed before we gave it to Ellie.
Now the munchkin has found that this new thing to lay on is hers.  I have hardly been able to get her off of it all day.  Lazy bones.  I hear Santa is bringing her a stocking full of toys and chew bones too.
I have no idea what made little miss so tired.  She absolutely loves her new bed and if I can’t find her this is now the first place I look.  If we throw more than one blanket on top of the bed she’ll drag them all over until they’re perfectly positioned and she can curl up under them.  Yes, I said under.  She’s a super spoiled dog and I am willing to admit that.

How Many Christmas Trees Can One House Have?

Target had these goodies on SALE.  A whopping 40% off in store and a 20% off coupon we found online.  Roomie & I each got trees, one for my bathroom and one for the front room.  Now, we’ve just gotta buy our lights for the house for next year and we’ll be ALL set. (We will get them after Christmas so they’re 75% off).   Oh yes, what SMART college girls we are!

Ellie’s New Hangout

Roomie decided to nap the other day and well I didn’t (a huge FIRST for me).  Instead I cleaned out the shower, hung clothes, and did some wifely duties.  After not hearing even a peep from Ellie for about a hour I decided to see where the little Gremlin was at.  I went searching through the house and couldn’t find her anywhere.  I even checked in where Roomie was sleeping and still, no Ellie.  I walked back through the house again and this red ball of fur is starring at me.  I went and grabbed my camera to show Roomie as proof that in deed Ellie did this all on her own.

Roomie stroked out when she saw this, but had a good laugh too.  I got in trouble for not watching Ellie and for having to re-do all of that CLEAN laundry in the hamper that Ellie decided to lay on.  She has now started to crawl under the laundry and hide herself (all except for her little nose).  Oh what a smart dog we have!

Can you spot that lovable red ball of fur?  She doesn’t necessarily blend in with the laundry, but this isn’t a place I’d look for a dog.  I mean what dog would deliberately crawl into a laundry basket?  Maybe it’s just my dog that’s weird.  Oh well, I’m used to strange and unusual.

Looking like she hadn’t done anything wrong.  I mean she looks extremely innocent right?  I think by this point she was already ignoring me cause she knew she had done something wrong or at least I’d like to think she realized that.  She’s a mess I tell ya, just a mess.
