Ellie Mae has Arrived

Roomie and I are now parents.  We went and picked up Miss Ellie around 6:30 today.   Ellie is a red long haired dachshund.   She is 6months old and was born Nov. 1, 2007.  Needless to say we’re stoked.   Mom asked for pics of her new grand-dog and of course she thought she was CUTE!  Nic even IMed her and told her she was a Grannie.  HA!

Papaw said that he now expects us to visit along WITH our children.   He said we could just put her in the kitchen in her PINK pack & play.  I even suggested the patio, but he said nah, she’s family, she doesn’t belong outside.  Awww…how exciting.  Now we definitely need to visit to show off our addition.

Grandma was happy and I think she was excited b/c he mothers middle name was Mae…Roomie and I had no idea.

Ellie did have her FIRST big shopping trip.  We took her to PetCo in Norman for some treats.   She did very well on a leash while we in the store and had to sniff everything.  It was amazing getting to see her “explore”.   Although when we tried to feed her different treats in the store she didn’t want them.   Maybe next time?

She’s fast asleep in her Pack & Play as we speak.  Roomie & I plastic wrapped everything before we put her in there.   But she’s got her blanket, her new stuffed toy that shes started dragging around everywhere and her pillow.

Grade Report & the Future Ellie

So far, I’ve made a B in my Nutrition class.   I’m awaiting grades in my ethics and medical term classes.   I will finish with my Dev. Psych class sometime tomorrow evening and will be done for the summer.  I can’t believe I’m finishing school this early.  It’s amazing.   Now, I will have more time to get my things in order and how I want them.

I think Roomie is adjusting and loving the way the living rm is arranged to.  Now, we just need a bigger TV and we’ll be uptown.  Maybe one of those 50″ plasmas?   Just an idea, don’t think anyone will buy it…but I can dream, right?

Roomie and I did buy a Pack & Play. Yes, I’m talking about one of those that babies use. I love it. It’s PINK and fits us and the future Ellie just perfectly.

We’re getting a D-O-G

It finally happened.  Dad caved.  He finally realized what kind of dog Roomie & I both want.   Mom was the one who actually started shopping for this dog that we’re going to get.  We’ve narrowed it down to a few breeds: Westie, Scoland terrier, Scottish terrier, Miniature Poodle (must be black – it’s a Roomie thing), Cairn terrier, Bichon Friese (but the fuzzy stuff on the top of its head must be cut off – also a Roomie thing), and finally a Maltese.  Of course we’re looking for mixes/hybrids of these types of dogs too.   Just as long as they’re under 20lbs and spayed, potty trained and/or crate trained.

Roomie has never been a dog person.   This was brought up to her by my mother (Roomie kept saying why can’t we get a dog before I leave for my trip up north), Roomie replied that little dogs don’t have human looking poop – I thought I was going to die laughing. Roomie is now “all for” a dog/puppy.  She’s already named the creature: Ellie Mae, which I’m sure will be spoiled.   We actually are looking for a Pack & Play for Ellie (the dog that we don’t have yet).  My cousin said it sounded like we were preparing for a baby and I do believe she is right.

Roomie & I are stoked about this soon to be addition to our home.   We’ve done some serious cleaning and rearranging furniture these past few days.  Heck, we’ve even painted most of what was in our garage on the “To Do” list for the summer.   Needless to say, its finally begin to look like a house.  We will have to post pics later of everything that we’ve done.
