First Day of School

Technically yesterday was my first day of school.   I had all of my work for the day done by 9AM (that’s 4 online classes).  I was quite impressed with myself.   I didn’t have a lunch date like I thought I would.  Instead, I spent the day reading for school and doing a few more lessons to get ahead.

I actually read a text book last night. Ethics – it really made me think.   You know about all those controversial topics such as Fetal Testing for Downs Syndrome, Feeding and Paying for Medical Care for Prisoners, and the Death Penalty.   All the topics given really made you think – the book gave opinions on each saying how the ethical reasonings could go either way.   Most of it I would have never thought of doing and some of it really was the “gray” area that I hate so much.  It was interesting.

Today was good, just good.  I went to class over at Rose State (about 30 min from Norman) for Physiology.   I’m very intrigued by the class to say the least.  I’ve never ever had a DVD be required for a class until now.   It’s a DVD over a cadaver dissection and I can’t wait to come home and watch it tonight.   I’ve got some homework to do for Physiology and a bit more for my online classes and the week will be over with.

So far, no social life.   Just working (39 hours this week) and going to school (16 hours worth) and keep telling myself I’m going to be finished (with regular college) FALL of 2008.

Tonight’s Events

The dinner party tonight was a blast.  After cleaning all day and getting ready for about a hour and a half (some with Roomie’s help) I was extremely ready for tonight.  Roomie answered the door cause I was still kind of getting ready and evidently he had blocked the look out thing on the door and so when Roomie opened the door she said she was trusting him since she couldn’t seen out (she already knew it was him).

Anyhoo, I cooked the meal while he was here believe it or not.  He did an amazing job cooking steak I must say.  I think I shocked him though, he wasn’t expecting what I did for him (at all).  I told him I had to look up what he could eat and plan it.

We sat at the table for 2 hours literally and talked about odd and random things like Sooner Mall and what him and his brother did growing up.  I would have hated to raise the two of them together!

Overall it was a great night.  School starts tomorrow and as long as I get ALL of my work done by lunch, I have a lunch date.  He’ll be over with his gigantic bowl of salad to watch the movie we didn’t watch tonight.  Luckily mom didn’t say much about that (she’s getting the HINT that I’m trying to finish school).

Oh My, It’s Already Sunday

School starts tomorrow believe it or not.  I don’t really want to go back, but I’m ready to be done with school (well at least basic wise). I’m enrolled in 12 hours of online classes and one 4 hour Physiology class.  I’ve got everything all planned out in my planner.  I’m going to follow it and will be done with 3 classes in March.  I’m excited and yes, mom – I know I will NOT have a social life.

Neighbor Boy is coming over tonight for dinner.  I decided to try Asparagus since it’s on his “Can Have” list.  It’s not bad, I actually like it.  Roomie and I did a test run last night on food we’re cooking and I must say, dinner is going to be amazing.  On the dinner menu tonight is Asparagus cooked in olive oil, Salad with cucumbers and Olive Garden Dressing, and Top Sirloin Steak.  Mom said something about how much dinner was going to cost me since it’s a “special” dinner.  I can’t believe some of the things her and Roomie come up with on a daily basis about this guy.  For instance, Roomie said that she couldn’t wait to go ring shopping (I swear that kid, it’s like she’s attached at my hip or something).

On a lighter note, the house is SPOTLESS! I’ve got a bit of touch up work to do in Roomie’s bathroom and my room and it will be amazing.

Work Can be Fun

While working yesterday, Roomie sent me a text saying that she saw Neighbor Boy while she was out in the front yard and he waved at her.  She said there must be some civility between the two of us since he waved at her.  Then, after she sees him, he calls me (while I’m at work).  I returned his call on my break that I got and found out that he’s been in Texas setting up that multi-million dollar software for a company.

I invited him over for dinner on Sunday.  He said that he was watching what he ate and Roomie busted up laughing, then I asked him what and he said Phase ONE off of South Beach Diet….even more laughter coming from Roomie and I.  Needless to say I had to research what was on the Phase One diet and came up with a menu.  Sirloin and a certain veggies and a movie that I have yet to pick out.

I think Roomie is fretting because while she is at work Sunday – I will be cooking.  I think she thinks my cooking is going to scare him off or something…or I’ll burn the house down.  Either way, I can’t wait for Sunday.

What a Day

Today should and will be a fairly busy day.  For starters I woke up to the crazy homebuilders knocking around in the back (they’re building a house directly behind us).  They have somehow managed to BREAK our fencepost, so now our fence is leaning (not cool).  I think I’d have to say if I had this all to do over again (we’d choose something that wasn’t built by Home Creations) and if you’re thinking about building with Home Creations – DON’T!

I’ve been working 8:30-3 or so the past few days at Norman Regional.  In the process – my boss applied me for a job over at the Moore Medical Center in the same department (Food Nutrition).  Anyhoo, I got the job over in Moore and I think I will start on Monday.  It’s part-time and I’m THRILLED.

I work by myself tonight (it should be interesting) from 4-8.  Anything the patient wants the patient gets.  FUN.  Can’t wait for tonight.

A Night of DirecTV

So, it’s nearly 8pm and I’m in Shawnee watching the Mom & Dad’s TV.  It’s amazing, so many channels, so many movies.  Wow, I’m wishing we had this in Norman.  I’ve got my night all planned (at least movie wise), all the way until 4AM.  This should be a hoot.  I’m getting my fill of Discovery Health, TLC, MTV (there are some shows that are worth watching) as well as HBO and the History Channel.  I love them all, but it’s just too darn expensive to get over in Norman.

Supposedly Baby Bro was sick, but somehow he made a speedy recovery.  I just came to referee and to make sure he stayed indoors and he didn’t sneak out to go anywhere.  Mom & Dad went out of town and I got sent to babysit – what a way to spend a Saturday night.

No idea what the plans are for the coming week.  I might go see Neighbor Boy some night, I told him I would cook food for him and Roomie some time this week.  It seems like thats all I do these days – cook, clean and go to school (oh and add work in there too). We’ll just have to see what happens.

It's Almost Time for School

Roomie has started school already. Yippee!  She’s going to be BUSY this week and I’m going to be here for “moral” support.

I had a BLAST tonight.  Our friend from BBW came over for dinner, it was the BEST.  Roomie and I got salad dressing from Olive Garden and made salad, bread and spaghetti.  Definitely was the best dinner in forever.

I’m loving the BBW sale this year.  We’ve gotten into Ebay and it’s our “new” thing.  I absolutely love selling stuff on there.  Not up to a whole lot this week, just have done a bit of relaxing and cleaning up the house from our visitors we’ve had Christmas Break.
